Adulticiding season usually begins in June but could vary. Check the posted signs at the Town Hall for the beginning date and the additional or alternate weekday when needed. Weather permitting, adulticiding (spraying with the truck-mounted sprayer) will generally occur beginning a few minutes past sundown on Thursday evenings. Spraying takes about two hours and will usually follow last year's route. Adulticiding season ends with the first hard frost.

I have seen several snowfalls where our entire street department has worked all day and through the night trying to keep our main roads and emergency routes open and our hazardous hills on 600 N and Prophets Rock Road as safe as possible. During one heavy snowfall there were several periods of heavy accumulation spread throughout the night. For this reason it may be several hours after the snowfall and snow drifting ends before sidestreets, subdivisions, cul-de-sacs and alleys are plowed and treated. When heavy snow is expected, please park vehicles outside of the street right-of-way. Please avoid tragedy by not allowing children to tunnel into or play around snow piles in the street right-of-way until at least 24 hours after the snowfall and snow drifting has ended. It is a good idea to avoid the hill on the east end of 600 N and the hills on Prophets Rock Road during snow or ice accumulation. If you see a spot we've missed, or need an estimate of when a particular spot will get attention, please call the Town Hall 8 - 11 AM or noon - 4 PM.
