Fluoridation

All water produced by the Battle Ground Water system is routinely fluoridated to reduce future dental caries by sixty percent in young children who drink the water (ref. ISBH & CDC). This is necessary since the natural level of fluoride in the raw water is only 0.3 ppm (which is too low to be of any value). The fluoride level is maintained between 1.0 and 1.3 ppm (corrected in-house test results confirmed weekly by ISBH). The fluoride chemical used is granular sodium fluoride. Back to Contents
