Sodium

Sodium is a very abundant element. It is seldom a health risk although much attention has lately been paid to it in the food industry. Outside lab tests for sodium have placed the concentration consistently between 10 and 13 ppm. Ion exchange softening of our water can increase the sodium concentration sevenfold or more. It would take 14 gallons of our unsoftened water to yield as much sodium as a single serving packet of noodle seasoning. Back to Contents
